Further Thoughts on the Future of Universities

Last fall, a professor from Stanford offered a free online course in Artificial Intelligence. The result? A complete reshaping of his understanding of what it means to be an educator.

Thurn has now left Stanford and opened his own online university.  The first two courses are here.

It is examples such as this and the United Nations free online university that make the vision of the Uncollege seem not so unreasonable at all.
