Last year my grade 7s learned to listen to each other and value disagreement.

I absolutely agree with you! If everyone always tells you that you are great, then you will never make a change for improvement. Constructive criticism and disagreement are being down played in this day and age, and they really should not be because they are vital to the education of our students.
